Vorderstoder
Vorderstoder lies to the side of the wild and romantic Stodertal. The best way to reach it is via Hinterstoder or via Windischgarsten/Rossleithen. Vorderstoder is located at 810 meters above sea level and is therefore the highest village in Upper Austria.
Surrounded by the mountains The idyllic mountain village lies in the Pyhrn-Priel region and the Totes Gebirge. There are countless hiking options, from leisurely to alpine terrain. One I would like to introduce the hike to Schafferteich with my pictures. The start is in the middle of the village in a free parking lot. This is the big loop of about 7 km. A shorter version is available from now on Parking near the Schafferteich, which is subject to a charge. It goes over a cow pasture cross country high. It leads past a farm to the road, then right and at the fork in the road Take the path to the right until you reach the next fork in the road, which is marked. From here we go left through the forest. After a short A section of forest along the stream takes you back to the road. We'll follow this for a short while. There then turn right onto a forest road. Follow this path until you arrive at the Schafferteich. On the way we pass the “Platzl zum Fallen Lieben”. The path continues past the “Platzl for heavenly feelings”, around which Schafferteich and at the end flows back into the street at the parking lot. We'll then go the way We came back to the starting point in Vorderstoder.
There are of course other paths such as the Rieserrunde “the sunny one” or the Grossgrubrunde.
