Altausee lake

The Altaussee Lake, located in the Ausseerland region, is in Styria and is also part of the Salzkammergut. The lake has a length of 2.6 km, a maximum width of 1 km, an area of 2.1 km², and is surrounded by a beautiful mountain landscape, including the Loser. The lake is not only known for the Narcissus Festival but was also a filming location for a part of James Bond's "Spectre."

The circular path around the lake is very well-maintained and easy to walk, with a length of approximately 7.5 km. Although the path is easy, sturdy shoes are recommended. It is recommended to walk around the lake in autumn when the impressive variety of colors leaves lasting memories. For those interested, the Ostersee, which is accessible via the southern tip of the Altaussee Lake, can also be visited.
