Fuschl lake
The Fuschl lake is located in Salzkammergut, federal state of Salzburg, the Fuschl lake covers an area of 2.7 km², with a length of 4.1 km and a width of 900 m. The circular trail around the lake is approximately 12 km long, passing through Fuschl am See, along beautiful shaded forest paths, and past untouched meadows where native orchids can sometimes be found. Numerous benches invite hikers to take a break and enjoy the stunning landscape. The water is crystal clear, reminiscent of the Caribbean Sea.
The Castle Fishery offers excellent smoked fish. The local gastronomy invites you to relax and enjoy in the garden with a view of the lake. There are a few free parking spots, but they fill up quickly. It's best to park in the paid lot near the lake's swimming area. The circular trail is well-marked. However, sturdy footwear is recommended, especially after rain. Since about 80 percent of the trail runs through the forest, it remains pleasantly cool even in summer.
